I wonder how many of you punks and freaks has watched Hackers – Their only crime was curiousity, it is a crime movie from 1995.
Back in my youth this movie was mega influential to the growing kids we the Computer addict gamers and future Computer Admins and Programmers were.

Hackers movie directed by Iain Softley and starring Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie, Renoly Santiago, Matthew Lillard, Jesse Bradford, Lorraine Bracco, and Fisher Stevens. The film follows a group of high school hackers and their involvement in a corporate extortion conspiracy. Made in the 1990s when the internet was unfamiliar to the general public, it reflects the ideals laid out in the Hacker Manifesto quoted in the film: “This is our world now… the world of the electron and the switch […] We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias… and you call us criminals. […] Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity.” Hackers has achieved cult classic status.
Though the movie looks a bit kiddish today, back in the day it was very close to reality on what hacking is as how we imagined it.
It was the days of modems and the emerging internet and the movie soundtrack was absolutely killing as it was the wild times of Punk / Rock / Metal and undergrounds flowing in the countries that were gravitating around Soviet Union (nowdays Russia).

A very funny story is how the hackers commercial website got hacked MGM/UA set up a website for Hackers that soon afterwards was allegedly hacked by a group called the “Internet Liberation Front.” A photograph of the film’s stars Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller were doodled upon, and the words “this is going to be an entertaining fun promotional site for a movie,” were replaced with “this is going to be a lame, cheesy promotional site for a movie!” The studio maintained the site during the theatrical run of the movie in its altered form.

The movie is full of unusual characters displayed as hackers and a lot of crazy, weird parties.

I”m not sure about copyrights and stuff and how legal it is to watch the movie online but I found a place where it is free for watching.

If you decide to watch it (oh that would perhaps give you enjoyment) if you like movies with a need for thinking watch it online here:
