How to fix Lock screen uses last active window’s language instead of default keyboard language
Here’s an easy fix:
1) open terminal
2) run ibus-setup
3) open the extra settings (the last tab)
4) check the “use system keyboard layout” checkboxNow, how about you guys (yes, you, Canonical) make this the default settings? All I know about it is that it (probably) stores its config in gconf, but I cannot find it, so I cannot give you a patch.
Or another way is to get around by doing this:
get rid of gnome-screensaver by:
sudo apt-get purge gnome-screensaver
Install the X screensaver by:
sudo apt-get install xscreensaver xscreensaver-data xscreensaver-gl
Whenever you forgot to switch back to English before the system locks itself, hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 log in as your admin user and kill -9 xscreensaver and you’re back in!
(It’s just a workaround and not a real “solution” but it works for me and is definitely better then shutting down and restarting)
