Stratelates – WikipediaStratēlatēs (Greek: στρατηλάτης, “driver/leader of the army”) was a Greek term designating a general, which also became an honorary dignity in the Byzantine Empire. In the former sense, it was often applied to military saints, such as Theodore Stratelates.
