    If you’re running a corporate PC / notebook at your work place and some update installs Tanium, then beware this is a kind of spyware tool that allows the management to make screenshots of your screen every 15 seconds and allow remote access of your management to your PC, so your work privacy will be broken. To get around this just kill taniumclient.exe running process.


    taskkill /F /IM taniumclient.exe

    Then stop TaniumClient from PC create a new batch file with notepad stop_sniff.bat


    C:\Georgi>type stop_sniff.bat
    taskkill /F /IM taniumclient.exe
    C:\Georgi>type stop_sniff.bat
    taskkill /F /IM taniumclient.exe

    Then add a new value to Windows Registry:, e.g. run:
    regedit


    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    Just add Full Path location to stop_sniff.bat and that’s it you will prevent your corporation / organization to sniff your PC actions

      Other way to stop tanium client from auto start:

      Open a command prompt. (Run a command prompt as Administrator in Windows vista/7/8)
      Copy red command line and Paste.

      sc stop “TaniumClient”
      sc config “TaniumClient” start= disabled

      How to delete this service.

      sc delete “TaniumClient”

      Also it is possible to use services.msc find the serve and set it to disabled
